The yoke of a strangerUnder the yoke if a curious stranger I till the earth regardless.
Sweat brings sense of accomplishment.
Blisters no longer carry the weight they used to.
Callous is as much a away of being as it is the state of my heart.

Unsure how to continue as I carve my future in the tundra.
Everything is strained under this yoke.

Why do I work for him?
There was no promise made.
Is this a promise kept?
Under the eye of the stranger I will continue
Under the eye of the stranger...

running in the shadows of pathways, never stepping into clearings
because I’ve spent my whole life in the wilderness
and I still can’t tell the wolves from the woodsmen.
