Performing rites of sacred passage To a place we dare not go Reciting lines with meanings hidden That will plant seeds we dare not sow Such strange, perverse premonitions That predict sight so bleak Such simple, unhewn majesties That reveal a world so weak Awe inspired by children's minds Grasping further into the dark Mindless peoples taken viciously To face a fate quite stark The end must follow soon, dear heart, We must be saved with haste The world so broken and mangled Thrice repaired with tape and paste A child's simple plaything Rousing suspicions and witch stakes Surrounded by blind devotion That which shall lay this world to wast
